Peckham is such a vibrant area, to say the least! The cleanliness and coziness of the Peckham Rooms Hotel truly set it apart. We arrived after 10pm, but thanks to the email we received beforehand, we had the entrance password and key locker details ready. The entrance and lobby are beautifully decorated. The Savana Room was a bit smaller than I remembered from the photos, but it was still cozy and featured the most comfortable bed with a thick mattress, along with pristine sheets and linens. The decor gave off a lovely savanna vibe that reminded me of Africa, with terracotta wall paint and thoughtfully chosen pillowcases. They also provided complimentary eco-friendly shower products. The room had a small table, a chair, a wardrobe, and hangers, plus a little cable TV.
My daughter and I really enjoyed the breakfast, which included a great selection of quality items like organic chocolate drinks and coffee, cooked eggs, bread, muffins, cheese, jam, yogurt, and oat milk. The staff were professional, and when we requested a hairdryer while we were out sightseeing, it was promptly provided, even though the reception closes at 3pm—they're always reachable, even at night! The location in Peckham is convenient, with a bus stop just a 3-minute walk away, making it about a 20-30 minute ride into the city. The windows are well insulated, so even though we heard police sirens at night, it felt peaceful in this bustling metropolis.
